Testing for Radon in your home is relatively inexpensive. At-home Radon kits can be purchased at most hardware stores for under $25.

The following big-box retailers have Radon test kits available.

Ace Hardware

The Home Depot

Lowe’s

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recently offered free Radon test kits to residents, but the State has since ran out.

“CDPHE recently offered free Radon test kits to residents but due to the overwhelming demand, the supply ran out quickly,” the health department stated on its web site. “A few counties and municipalities, Colorado State University Extension Offices, and testing contractors are offering a limited number of additional free Radon test kits to Colorado residents. There are only about 3,000 kits available, and many are available only to residents in certain counties.”
