It was just under 3 years ago that the United States was captivated by a rare total solar eclipse event that spanned coast to coast.

Thousands of people turned to the sky on August 21, 2017 to view either a partial or full eclipse. The next total solar eclipse event in the United States will happen April 8, 2024

After waiting decades for the eclipse of 2017, waiting another 4 years for the next doesn't seem too long.

Coloradoans did not have to travel far to be under "totality" in 2017, the nearest large city was Cheyenne, Wyoming. Plan to travel a bit further to see totality next time.

Coming up on April 8, 2024, the next total eclipse will span North America, moving from Mexico, through the United States and skirt by Canada.

Notable cities under "totality" include:

Dallas, TX

Little Rock, AR

Indianapolis, IN

Cleveland, OH

Erie, PA

Buffalo, NY

Burlington, VT

It's not too early to start planning for your "totality" destination!
