ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A report that came into the Safe2Tell tipline prompted officials to place Global Leadership Academy on lockout Wednesday, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office.

Around 3 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff's Office tweeted that the scene was "no longer active and has been deemed safe."

Deputies responded to the school, located at 7480 Broadway, Wednesday morning following the report. The sheriff's office tweeted that "teams of deputies are in the school following up on the tip."

Deputies were directing students and staff to specific areas on campus during the search. Deputies closed Broadway in the area.

The nature of the Safe2Tell report has not been released. The Mapleton School District said they placed the school on lockout out of an abundance of caution.

School was let out at the normal time with normal pick up procedures, according to the sheriff's office.
