Following the conclusion of Thursday's games, CHSAA announced the remaining state basketball tournament contests have all been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2019-20 season will end in the Final Four for all 5 classes, which still had to play games on Friday and Saturday in Denver, Loveland and Greeley.
Concerns over the ability to play games safely at these venues was the underlining determination for this year's cancellation.
"Everything we've done up to this point was to try and keep the experience of a state basketball tournament for our student participants and high school communities," said CHSAA commissioner Rhonda Blanford-Green. "In the face of this unprecedented public health emergency, we are compelled to discontinue play in all tournaments."
Colorado follows states such as Texas, Kentucky, Wisconsin and California, which all made similar decisions this week.
