DENVER – It took about two weeks, but we finally know at least one of the African lion cubs born at the Denver Zoo last month will eventually become the leader of his pride.

Wishing all mothers a happy holiday on Sunday, the Denver Zoo revealed in a tweet 4-year-old Kamara had given birth to a boy and a girl back in April 23.

The cubs remain nameless for the moment, but we can probably expect the Zoo to hold a contest inviting Denverites to name the two newborns, as was the case with Tatu late last year.

The mother and her two cubs will stay behind the scenes for about two months to give them time to bond, according to the zoo. At that point, they’ll be slowly introducing the cubs to the rest of the pack: unrelated 7-year-old female named Sabi, Neliah and Tatu.
