DENVER – Arapahoe Basin became the third Colorado ski area to open for the season Monday after it received more snow in the Sunday-Monday storm.

Black Mountain Express is the only lift currently open at “The Legend” and High Noon trail the only trail currently open. The lift closed at 4:30 p.m. Monday but will be back open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Tuesday.

A-Basin Season Pass or Any Day Pass holders will be able to ski or ride without reservations, but Ikon Pass holders will have to make reservations starting Tuesday.

Lift tickets must be bought online in advance, and A-Basin started selling tickets through Friday on Monday.

Wolf Creek Ski Area was the first to open in Colorado this year on Oct. 28. Southern Colorado has received more snow to start the year than the central and northern mountains, and Wolf Creek had received more than two feet of snow over the weekend into Monday morning.

Keystone – just down the road from A-Basin – opened last Friday with the reservation system. Breckenridge is set to open Nov. 13 for passholders and Vail is scheduled to open on Nov. 20.

All of Colorado’s ski areas have restrictions and COVID-19 rules in place for guests. For details on A-Basin’s rules for the winter, click here.
