COLORADO SPRINGS — In terms of giant articles of food on wheels, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has probably always reigned supreme and on Thursday, this king of "wheeled-dogs" rolled through Colorado Springs.

Crowds of eager Springs residents greeted the 27-foot long dog and bun contraption with smiles and cameras, lining up for some one-on-one time with the massive curiosity.

Maybe most importantly is the date. Thursday, according to the official Wienermobile Twitter, is the 83rd birthday of the iconic machine.

According to the accompanying Wienermobile navigators, known officially as hotdoggers, the machine measures out to exactly 60 hot dogs long.

Far from being the only dog on wheels, the official website dedicated to the Wienermobile states that at any given time there are six Wienermobiles traveling the country's highways.

If you missed this famed vehicle's stop in Colorado Springs, the Wienermobile is scheduled tostop in Denverfrom July 19th through the 20th.
