COLORADO SPRINGS — In terms of giant articles of food on wheels, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has probably always reigned supreme and on Thursday, this king of "wheeled-dogs" rolled through Colorado Springs.
Crowds of eager Springs residents greeted the 27-foot long dog and bun contraption with smiles and cameras, lining up for some one-on-one time with the massive curiosity.
Maybe most importantly is the date. Thursday, according to the official Wienermobile Twitter, is the 83rd birthday of the iconic machine.
Happy Birthday to me! The Wienermobile hit the Hot Dog Highways 83 years ago today, thanks to Oscar Mayer’s nephew, Carl Mayer. 83 never looked better! #fortheloveofhotdogs pic.twitter.com/qdWxwZUi8s
