Should the Christopher Columbus statue be taken down?

We're following this poll throughout the day and into tomorrow. Tune in to News5 at 4 p.m. as we review the results!

Back in late March, Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill to change Columbus Day holiday to Mother Francis Xavier Cabrini Day.

Saint Frances Cabrini was an Italian immigrant who became a naturalized citizen in Denver in the early 1900s.

She was the first American to be canonized by the Catholic Church for her work in founding schools, orphanages, and hospitals throughout the U.S. and South America.

This year, Colorado lawmakers officially adopted the new state holiday as an alternative day to Columbus Day. It is considered to be the first paid state holiday recognizing a woman in the U.S.
