COLORADO SPRINGS — Creative connoisseurs Gabby and Ryan Main may have been furloughed from their regular jobs, but that hasn't stopped them from working tirelessly to bring Colorado Springs a new type of tasty treat.

In what can only be called a beautiful marriage of morning routine and after hours relaxation, Happy Hour Donuts was born by combining tasty fried treats with a variety of booze.

The small amount of alcohol in each batch is only there for flavoring, Gabby explaining that she simply wanted to craft something unique for Colorado Springs.

The entire idea was born after one disagreement as to whether to stop for donuts one morning.

Following that interaction, the couple purchased a fryer, invested hours, days, and weeks into learning how to create their own donuts, and now are spreading their proverbial business wings and turning this passion project into something more.

Gabby is mainly in charge of running the baking and crafting portion of the operation while Ryan handles glazing the donuts and most of the business aspects of the burgeoning startup.

The hope is to nail down shipping to wider and wider areas and hopefully open up a brick-and-mortar at some point in the future.

"We just started it and it's just really cool to see something actually come out of it," stated Gabby, "that was our biggest thing, we just wanted to come out of quarantine and come out of this pandemic with something positive and just something where we could say, look at what we did."
