COLORADO SPRINGS — In terms of holiday item collections, Bonnie Robinson, a Colorado Springs resident with a total of 725 different nativity sets, might be queen forever.
This nativity-collecting enthusiast has been gathering sets for the past 50 years, ever since she and her husband got married.
Over the years, her collection has grown considerably with personal purchases and plenty of gifted sets, increasing at a rate of 10 to 20 each year.
The sets come from across the states and all over the globe and take any number of shapes and sizes.
This year, even with the help of a neighbor, Robinson said setting up all the nativities took about six weeks.
However, putting up and taking down has become too much for Robinson, prompting her to make the decision to donate the massive collection to a museum in Burlington, Colorado.
The current plan is to donate the set this coming year, making 2019 the last time the Robinson family will display their impressive Christmas collection.
