DNA match leads to arrest in Fremont County cold case

FREMONT COUNTY — A DNA match has led to an arrest in a Fremont County homicide cold case.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office along with District Attorney Kaitlin Turner announced the arrest of 46-year-old Matthew Allan Rodgers for the murder of 76-year-old Kenneth Orchard. Orchard's body was found in a burning house on May 22, 2018.

Rodgers is charged with 1st Degree Homicide, 1st Degree Arson, 1st Degree Burglary, Crimes against an at-risk adult, Tampering with a deceased human body, and Tampering with physical evidence.

Rodgers is being held in the Fremont County Detention Center without bond.
