COLORADO SPRINGS — Part of South Academy Boulevard was shut down for a few hours early Friday morning after a single-vehicle crash that killed one woman, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The woman was driving on South Academy between Drennan Road and Bradley Road after midnight when police said she lost control. CSPD said her Chevrolet Silverado rolled "several times" and she was ejected from the car. She died at the scene due to her injuries.
Major Crash Team detectives took over the investigation and closed South Academy in both directions until just after 4 a.m. Friday.
The name of the woman has not been released.
