Woman accused of dragging Colorado Springs police officer during struggle

COLORADO SPRINGS — A woman is facing several charges after police said she assaulted and partially dragged a Colorado Springs police officer.

On Friday, at approximately 6:47 p.m., CSPD got multiple calls about a woman acting erratic at the 7-Eleven at 1904 W Uintah St.

According to police, an officer arrived and tried to contact her but she became uncooperative and refused orders given to her by the officer.

Police later identified the woman as 31-year-old Sarah Lightfoot.

Colorado Springs police said a struggle ensued and the officer was assaulted and partially dragged while Lightfoot backed into the marked police car, causing minor damage.

Two civilians helped the officer control Lightfoot while the officer placed her in handcuffs.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

Police later found out the vehicle Lightfoot was driver was stolen.

She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on multiple charges.
