FREMONT COUNTY — Authorities in Fremont County said the Tuesday's fire was caused by lightning.
The Tallahassee Fire started around 3:13 p.m. in the area of Hwy. 9 near mile marker 3. The fire is currently half an acre in size and is burning 9 miles northwest of Cañon City on BLM-Royal Gorge Field Office Lands.
A five-*person hand crew and a type three helicopter are fighting the fire.
No structures are threatened.
