Where to enjoy Veterans Day deals, events in southern Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS — This Veterans Day may look different due to the pandemic, but the appreciation remains for those who have served our country.

News5 has put together a list of places with deals for Veterans Day and events taking place to honor our local veterans.

Events:

  • Online Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the Pueblo Veterans Council and Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center. The online ceremony begins Wednesday at 11 a.m. For more information, click here.
  • Pikes Peak Community College will host a Facebook Live of its Veterans Day Wreath Laying Event Wednesday at 10 a.m. For more information,click here.
  • U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum will honor veterans with free admission Nov. 11-15. All veterans and active-duty military will receive free admission with military ID at the door. On Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. there will be a Q&A with Staff Sergeant Ellie Marks, a two-time Paralympic medalist in swimming. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
  • Pikes Peak Brewing Lager House is hosting Veterans Day Benefit to raise money for The Colorado Veterans Project. 25 cents of each beer sold from 4 p.m. until close goes to this great cause.
  • Special Forces Association Rocky Mountain Chapter 4-24 is hosting a Veterans Day breakfast on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The breakfast will be VFW 4051 and it will cost $5. Then at 11 a.m. the will be a Veterans Day ceremony at Memorial Park. For more information, click here.

Deals:

  • Einstein Bros. Bagels is giving away a free hot or iced medium coffee to any active or retired veteran on Nov. 11, 2020.
  • BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse -- On Nov. 11, all current and former military members receive a free entree up to $14.95 plus a free Dr. Pepper beverage. Dine-in only. A military ID is required. Other forms of proof of service may be accepted, too, just call your local restaurant and ask.
  • Chili's -- All veterans & active military members can get a free meal on Veterans Day November 11at all participating Chili's Grill & Bar restaurants. Available for in-restaurant only. The entrée includes: Chicken Crispers, Margarita Grilled Chicken, Bowl of Chili or Soup & Salad, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, Just Bacon Burger, Oldtimer with Cheese, and Cajun Chicken Pasta.
  • Starbucks -- Veterans, military service members, and military spouses get a free tall (12-oz) hot brewed coffee at participating stores on November 11. Starbucks is also donating 25 cents for every cup of hot brewed coffee sold that day to support the mental health of military communities.
  • Dunkin' -- On Wednesday, November 11, Dunkin' is offering a free donut to veterans and active-duty military with no purchase necessary
  • Colorado Parks and Wildlife -- Free admission on Veteran's Day (Nov. 11) to all state parks. Active duty and veterans are admitted free to Colorado state parks on Veteran's Day. The military member or veteran must show proof of military service (photo ID, DD-214). All other park fees (camping, etc.) are still charged.
  • Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will give veterans and military personnel a free sandwich on Veterans Day. With military ID or proof of service, Dickey’s will give a free Pulled Pork Classic Sandwich to military personnel and veterans for in-store dining only. No purchase is necessary.
  • Famous Dave’s BBQ: Thanking veterans with a meal, all day on Nov. 11, Famous Dave’s BBQ is offering one FREE Georgia Chopped Pork Sandwich plus One Side to all military personnel for either dine-in, to-go, or ordering online. Must present valid proof of service
  • Golden Corral: On Wednesday, Nov.11, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Golden Corral will be giving out Veterans Day free meals and a beverage to any person who has ever served in the U.S. military or is on current active duty. This includes retirees, veterans, National Guard, and reserves.
  • Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom: Nov. 11, free Specialty or up to 3 topping individual pizza for all active duty service members & veterans with proof of service and any purchase.
