4:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon forecast

Powerful late October storm will keep snow around through midday Monday

4:30 p.m. School closures and delays begin

Huerfano Re-1: 2 Hours Late, Staff report by 9:30am, Students report by 11AM, Buses will run 2 hours Late.

District 49: Closed. No E-learning or E-working.

Pikes Peak School of Exped. Learning: Closed

3:35 p.m. Poor visibility in northern Colorado Springs

2:40 p.m. Extremely cold in Monument

2:15 p.m. Fountain goes on Accident Alert

At 2:15 p.m. the City of Fountain was placed on accident alert status.

12 p.m. Snowfall starts

Many areas across the region saw at least a dusting of snow throughout the morning.

Friday PM Update | Overnight, temperatures will be dropping to the 20s and low 30s. The coldest temperatures by Saturday morning will be in along the Arkansas River and in El Paso county in the mid 20s.

Saturday forecast: We will see a break in the cold weather Saturday, with a warming westerly wind. This will bring wind gusts up to the 40 mph range in the mountains, San Luis Valley, and upper Arkansas River. The winds, paired with low humidity will bring a Red Flag Warning from 12 pm to 7 pm for Fremont, Huerfano, and Las Animas counties as well as the San Luis Valley, Wet mountains, and Sangre De Cristos range.

Sunday forecast: In the morning a powerful cold front will move through southern Colorado, bringing a drastic drop in temperatures throughout the day. Snow will also begin late morning Sunday and continue off and on until early Monday.
