Vitalant holds blood drive in Pueblo

PUEBLO — A blood banking group in Colorado needs your help.

Vitalant says it runs into a shortage of blood during the winter months due to bad weather and people getting sick.

The group held a blood drive at Saint Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo Monday. They are trying to build up their donor base again, so hospitals in Colorado don't run out of blood.

"During the winter months, the continuous need for blood never stops. Car accidents, trauma, so on and so forth. Those things happen and we need to make sure we can provide those life saving units to patients in need," said Donor Care Supervisor, Jose Trujillo.

If you would like to donate, contact Vitalant.
