COLORADO SPRINGS — Just before midnight Saturday night, multiple Colorado Springs Police officers were dispatched to a reported kidnapping in the 600 block of S. Hancock Ave.

According to CSPD, the adult, male victim of the kidnapping called from his cell phone and indicated he had been assaulted by multiple suspects and then thrown into the trunk of a car, which was currently moving.

CSPD said the man maintained contact with police and officers eventually located the suspect vehicle in the area of 2100 Pheasant Place.

As officers approached the suspect vehicle they observed a gunshot in the interior of the car. The officers then found an adult male suspect in the vehicle with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, CSPD said.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

CSPD said the victim was found in the trunk of the suspect vehicle and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Neither the suspect nor victim have been identified at this time.
