EL PASO COUNTY — The Coroner's Office has identified the person killed in last week's shooting on Shawnee Drive in the Cimarron Hills area.
On Sept. 17 around just before 9:30 p.m., deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired in the 1900 block of Shawnee Drive.
When they arrived on scene, deputies said they found 26-year-old William Underwood dead on the sidewalk.
Authorities have not identified a suspect or a motive. The investigation is on-going.
A second shooting happened in the same area at a Maverik convenience store on the corner of Peterson Road and Constitution Road around 2:30 a.m. The victim of that shooting is in critical condition.
The Sheriff's Office has not confirmed if the shootings are connected.
