COLORADO SPRINGS — The 24th Annual UCCS Economic Forum will look different this October as it takes place on a virtual platform.

The forum will kick off on Oct. 1 with guest speakers, Q&A session and virtual happy hour. It is free to register for the event taking place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Guest speakers include "renowned futurist" Dave Nelsen, Executive Director of the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center Aikta Marcoulier, and Executive Director of the UCCS Economic Forum Tatiana Bailey.

Nelsen is serving as the keynote speaker discussing how the pandemic will "change many aspects of the world as we know it," Marcoulier will kick off the event with "an update on small business in our region" and speak on economic conditions with COVID-19, and Bailey will give an overview of economic conditions with COVID-19 in our city, state and country.

Event organizers said there will also have a mixology lesson from local distiller Lee Spirits to enjoy a virtual happy hour and a Q&A at the end of the event.
