FOUNTAIN — Fountain Police have arrested two people on multiple charges stemming from a shooting at Metcalf Park.

Justyn Hornback, 21, and a 17-year-old male are both charged with attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, and reckless endangerment. The teen faces an additional charge of juvenile in possession of a weapon.

Hornback was booked into the El Paso Criminal Justice Center, and the teen into Spring Creek Youth Center.

The Fountain Police Department says it's grateful to the community for providing tips and information throughout the investigation.

Officers were called to Metcalf Park around 7:30 Thursday, July 25, on a shots fired report.

Officers arrived within a minute but the suspects were already gone.

Witnesses told them they saw two people shooting at each other.

Around 8:25 the same night two gunshot victims showed up at a Colorado Springs hospital, and police determined they were the suspects in the shooting.
