COLORADO SPRINGS — Two people are in custody following the death of a woman officers found while conducting a welfare check, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Officers responded to a call on April 28 to check the welfare of woman who lived in the 8000 Block of Fallgold Court. When they arrived, they said they found a dead woman inside the residence. She was later identified by the El Paso County Coroner's Office as 44-year-old Bridget Kenner. Detectives from CSPD’s Violent Crimes Section responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
Later that same day, detectives with the homicide/assault unit identified two suspects in the investigation and arrested 19-year-old Cohen Heath, also known as Vinn Heath, and a 16-year-old juvenile on first-degree murder charges.
Heath was booked into the El Paso County Jail and the juvenile was booked into the Spring Creek Youth Services Center.
The department said Kenner's death marks the 18th homicide in the city for this year. At this time last year, the department investigated five homicides.
