Tornado causes damage in Custer County

CUSTER COUNTY — A tornado formed formed north of Westcliffe Monday afternoon.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office said the tornado caused some damage near DeWeese Reservoir, including downing power lines and possibly causing a propane leak.

Lake DeWeese Road was closed at Williams Avenue. Highway 69 North was closed at Copper Gulch Rd because the road was washed out.

Highway 96 was also closed at County Road 387 due to a rockslide.
