COLORADO SPRINGS — Academy School District 20 announced Monday evening that three schools had to quarantine students and or staff Monday after they showed "COVID-like symptoms."

The three schools are Woodmen Roberts Elementary, Ranch Creek Elementary, and Frontier Elementary.

The district said these individuals have not tested positive for COVID-19.

In accordance with guidelines from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and out of an abundance of caution, the district said the following actions are being taken at all three schools:

  • The students/staff will remain home until they are no longer infectious.
  • Any student or staff in close contact with the individuals displaying symptoms have been instructed to stay home for 14 days.
  • The areas in the school where the students/staff were present are temporarily closed for deep cleaning and disinfecting. These areas will be open by Tuesday morning.

The district said communication was sent to all parents/families. All have been asked to continue to conduct daily symptom checks of their children before they come to school.

No further information has been released.
