TELLER COUNTY — Last Friday, Teller County deputies were called to the Woodrock subdivision on reports that a stand of mailboxes had been pried open and mail was taken.

The Sheriff's Office said a passerby spotted the suspects using a crowbar to open the aluminum mailboxes. When the suspects were spotted, they fled.

A deputy spotted the suspects attempting to flee eastbound down Highway 24 towards Colorado Springs. The suspect vehicle was boxed in by deputies and heavy traffic in front of the McDonald's on Highway 24.

Four suspects were taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and the United States Postal Service has been contacted for assistance, the Sheriff's Office said.
