COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police say a second 16-year-old is charged with first degree murder in connection to a shooting off Jet Wing Drive earlier this year.

The police department was alerted that a shooting victim was driven to an urgent care with life-threatening injuries on March 23. The victim, later identified as 28-year-old Alexis Torres Sosa, was then taken to the hospital to be treated.

Officers learned the shooting took place in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Jet Wing Drive. CSPD said based on the victim's injuries, its Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation.

Three days after Sosa arrived to the urgent care, he died as a result of his injuries. On Tuesday, March 31, they arrested the 16-year-old boy and charged him with first-degree murder.

Thursday night CSPDF said a warrant was obtained for a second 16-year-old boy. He was already in police custody on unrelated charges.

This is the city's 16th homicide investigation of the year. At this time last year, there were four homicide investigations at this time last year.

The department says this investigation is still active and anyone with information is asked to call (719) 444-7000. If you'd like to remain anonymous, you can call (719) 634-7867.
