Check out the forecast for the next three days relative to the record highs for each day.
We're expecting highs to soar into the middle 90s in Colorado Springs each day through Friday. I see our best chance for breaking records this week on Wednesday and Thursday.
In Pueblo, triple digit heat will be the main story late this week, along with high fire danger for areas to the west, like Canon City.
With the benchmark for records way up there in Pueblo the next couple of days, I think that our best chance will come Thursday, when the record is only 102 degrees. Our forecast on Thursday is 101 degrees.
Looking at high temperature trends for the next five days in Colorado Springs, our forecast shows very little change through the weekend.
Compared to our average high of 85 degrees, our forecast will be hot, so we recommend that you find a good way to cool off.
In Pueblo, highs will soar into the lower 100s each afternoon, with only minor day-to-day variations.
With the forecast calling for plenty of heat, this is the perfect time to visit the pool or lake. Invest in a slip n slide or turn on the sprinklers for the kids.
During hot stretches of weather, remember to drink plenty of water, wear light colored clothing and know your body well enough to know when to take breaks.
