COLORADO SPRINGS — Around 9 p.m. Saturday night, Colorado Springs Police were notified of a traffic crash in the 600 block of W. Colorado Ave.
Police said their investigation revealed a Pontiac car was traveling east on Colorado Ave. at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, traveled across all lanes of traffic, hit the north curb and then two parked cars.
The passenger in the car was taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the car, identified as 51-year-old Eileen Garcia, was arrested for DUI, Vehicular Assault, and other traffic charges.
Colorado Ave. was closed for around four hours between 8th St. and Walnut.
