COLORADO SPRINGS — A suspected DUI driver caused multiple hit-and-run crashes Thursday, with one of the crashes involving a school bus that had three students on it.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said it responded to reports of the crashes around 4:40 p.m. in the northeast part of the city.

Officers said 27-year-old Jorge Ramirez was driving a 2006 Chevrolet work van and was involved in three crashes before police arrived.

Once police arrived, the van was involved in its fourth crash at the intersection of April Drive and Research Parkway. CSPD said this crash involved a D-20 school bus that had three students and the school bus driver on board.

Authorities said no one on the bus had serious injuries following the incident.

CSPD said Ramirez was arrested for the crash and suspicion of DUI.
