Suspect transported to hospital after police shooting in Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — A suspect was transported to a hospital in unknown condition after a police shooting in Castle Rock late Tuesday.

The Castle Rock Police Department said officers responded to the 1500 block of Short Grass Court around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance involving a man who was possibly armed.

"The shooting occurred in front of the residence shortly after the officers arrived on scene," said a spokesperson for the Castle Rock Police Department.

Police did not say what led up to the shooting, which remains under investigation.

The man was transported to an area hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. There are pending charges against him.

No officers were injured in the shooting. The involved officers have been placed on administrative leave until the incident can be reviewed, per Castle Rock Police Department policy.
