COLORADO SPRINGS — The Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, the Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's Officers are seeking information in the officer-involved shooting on Galley Road and Arrawanna Street on Saturday, January 11.

The $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone who gives information leading to the suspect, 35-year-old Randy Bishop's arrest.

Just before midnight on Saturday, a Colorado Springs Police officer initiated a traffic stop due an expired license plate registration.

Bishop is accused of firing at least one shot at the officers. According to police, the officers returned fire as Bishop drove away from the scene. He was later involved in a traffic accident at Pikes Peak Avenue and Dunsmere Street. He then fled the scene on foot.

Bishop is also wanted in a case where he escaped custody while at Memorial Hospital. In November, a Colorado Springs Police Detective pursued Bishop down a hall where a physical altercation ensued, during which time Bishop assaulted the detective and took control of his firearm. At least one shot was fired by Bishop. The detective was injured, but the injury was not life threatening.

The sheriff’s office said Bishop should be considered armed and “extremely” dangerous. He has at least four open warrants for his arrest, including a charge of attempted murder.
