Storms and flooding leave some in Rocky Ford without power Tuesday morning

ROCKY FORD — Black Hills Energy is working to restore power to hundreds of people in Rocky Ford Tuesday morning hours after heavy rains caused flooding in the town Monday night.

The energy company reports that approximately 700 customers are without power due to an outage that was first reported at 5:43 a.m.

Power is expected to be restored at 8 a.m.

Rocky Ford was hit with heavy rain Monday night, causing street flooding and flooding of other lower areas. The Otero County Sheriff's Office reported that water flooded a part of Highway 50 at Milemarker 366, which is
