PUEBLO — An event later this month will aid veterans in need. Posada, a group that helps the homeless, is joining forces with local VFW and American Legion chapters to collect items for this year's Stand Down event.

They need clothes, food, toiletries, and other items to help homeless vets.

"Homeless veterans are already here. You know people to say it offers a chance for a lot of people to come in they are not coming in, they are already here so it is important with winter time coming that that we can have blankets, coats and everything so we just like to make them make sure they ok for right now," said LaTanya Yarbrough from Posada.

The Stand Down event is schedueld for Sept. 27th at First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th Street in Pueblo. Last year's event helped nearly 80 veterans.
