Springs man sentenced to life in prison in deadly apartment shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs man will spend the rest of his life in prison in the March 2019 shooting death of 37-year-old Nicholas Laduke.

On Tuesday an El Paso County just found Andrew Firkins guilty of first degree murder. Firkins was sentenced to the mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was found not guilty of third degree assault.

According to police, Firkins shot and killed Laduke at the Templeton Ridge Apartments on Winewood Village Drive in March 2019.
