COLORADO SPRINGS — Police have reopened southbound lanes of Highway 115 near Star Ranch Road in southeastern Colorado Springs hours after a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to an officer on the scene, a woman in a crosswalk was hit by a car. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car was attempting to turn left on the highway from Cheyenne Meadows Rd when the pedestrian was hit, according to police.

The initial report indicates the woman was legally in the crosswalk, not going against traffic lights.

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is underway.
