COLORADO SPRINGS — South Academy Boulevard at Hancock Expressway reopened after a five-hour closure as authorities investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash early Thursday morning, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Police responded to the crash just after midnight and later announced the intersection would be shut down for a "lengthy amount of time."
Hancock Ey/S Academy Bl is closed until further notice due to a serious traffic accident.

The department's Major Crash Team took the lead of the investigation. The intersection reopened around 6:45 a.m. with traffic moving through shortly after.
