OTERO COUNTY - Authorities in Otero County are reporting that the Smith Canyon Fire is 100 percent contained.
The fire started Saturday night and was sparked by lightning. The blaze burned approximately 100 acres south of La Junta.
In a Facebook post on the Otero County Sheriff's Office News Page, officials thanked everyone who helped put the fire out.
