COLORADO SPRINGS — The school year is officially over for thousands of students at Skyview Middle School in Colorado Springs, but they never had the chance to get their personal property left at school after COVID-19 shutdown in-person learning for the year.
On Friday, staff from Skyview hosted an exchange with students, giving them the opportunity to pick up their property, while collecting items that were property of the school.
The staff said that families have been understanding about remote learning and the curbside exchange.
"You know, it hasn't been too bad," said Cathy Tinucci, the Skyview Middle School Principal. "I think the families that we have that are coming are taking it in stride and they understand that we had to do it this way.''
The students iteams were removed from lockers and bagged for safety.
The exchange will go on until next Tuesday.
