Ski Report: Conditions look nice out west on Friday

This week's ski report might bum out powder chasers, but we still have a few nice days coming our way, if you want to hit the slopes.

A few ski areas this week saw an inch or so of snow, but most of the state stayed pretty dry. Despite the lackluster snow over the last couple weeks, our snow bases are at respectable levels with Monarch, Beaver Creek, and Breckenridge all around 25". Vail is just over 30".

Skiing and snowboarding conditions look pretty nice Friday out west with sunny, blue bird conditions. There will be a bit of wind in areas a little closer to the front range like Loveland and Monarch Mountain.

We have a chance for light snow showers Saturday in the morning, but mostly on the slopes north of I-70. Steamboat might get 1-2 inches, but most areas south would stay below an inch or just see flurries. Sunday will be cold but with sunny skies returning.

For Monarch Mountain this weekend, we should expect a windy day Friday with sunny skies. Saturday will be cloudy and cold with a few stray flurries in the mid morning. Sunday should be dry, sunny, and cold. Wolf Creek should stay dry this weekend and remain a few degrees warmer.

Steamboat should stay dry Friday and Sunday, but on Saturday an inch or two is possible in the morning, so watch the drive over Rabbit Ears Pass if you travel north. Breckenridge looks dry and sunny on Friday with less than an inch of snow possible on Saturday.
