PUEBLO — A car lost control on southbound I-25 in Pueblo early Friday morning, rolling a few times and injuring 5 passengers, according to the Pueblo Police Department.

The department said the call came in around 2:40 a.m. regarding the crash on southbound I-25 at the Abriendo Avenue exit in Pueblo. Police said the car rolled a few times and hit several objects, including a lightpole.

Five people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries and there were some with "serious bodily injury." Police did not specify how many had serious injuries as a result of the crash.

The interstate was shut down at Central Avenue as investigators worked at the crash scene. The Colorado Department of Transportation said the interstate reopened just before 8 a.m., three hours after it was first closed.
