COLORADO SPRINGS — The non-profit Silver Key Senior Services is expanding its reach to provide mental health services.

They are able to do this after receiving a grant from the NextFifty Initiative.

Silver Key and its partners will use the money to pay for the new Comprehensive Senior Assistance Program.

The program aims to increase support for aging individuals who might be in need of mental health resources.

"Learning is a big part of this to where we're going to be able to show that by offering proactive care in the mental health area that it benefits dollars and cents, it's benefits the individuals, which the whole community is then rewarded in," said Derek Wilson, Silver Key's chief strategy officer.

Silver Key says the new program comes at a time when seniors need it most, since many seniors have been living in isolation due to the pandemic.
