COLORADO SPRINGS — We know certain groups of people are more vulnerable when it comes to COVID-19.

One of those is seniors.

Silver Key said they are adjusting their ride services to only give essential rides to seniors. This means those who have medical or food insecurity issues.

For those who may want to stay home during this time, the organization will also still have their food home delivery service up and running.

The Connection Cafe is also still open and will now have a grab and go option so people can pick up food.

Silver Key also said they will call seniors who are choosing to stay home and make sure their mental health doesn't suffer while they are isolated.

"They should not be the invisible population. We have to make seniors visible, we have to make their needs cared for, and we have to be committed to be able to provide the best support for those who are needy in our community, and most marginalized sometimes in communities," said President and CEO, Jason DeaBueno.

Silver Key serves around 7,000 people each year and they are currently in need of more volunteers.
