PUEBLO — Colorado Senator Cory Gardner commented on the impeachment process during a visit to southern Colorado Thursday.
Gardner, a Republican, voted to acquit President Trump on both articles filed in the House of Representatives.
He said he wants the chamber to return to its important work.
"I hope in the Senate we can turn to projects that have bi-partisan support. That the bitterness that we've seen over the last three weeks can be set aside, people, can come together," Gardner said.
Senator Gardner also stopped at Fort Carson on Thursday, where he spoke to military leaders about its designation as a possible quarantine site for people who might be infected with the Wuhan coronavirus.
