COLORADO SPRINGS — Students from Sand Creek High School in D49 were picking up their caps and gowns on campus Friday.
Leaders in El Paso County recently proposed plans to allow seniors a graduation day, although it will not look like a traditional ceremony because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That means only students will be at the ceremonies, which will be overseen by a limited number of staff.
"I think this has just really been hard on families and, of course, on our students, and our staff, so it's been really nice to see everybody," said Sand Creek Campus Director Audra Lane.
Sand Creek's graduation is planned for June 26 at UCHealth Stadium.
During his press conference today Governor Polis said he is working to allow El Paso county to go ahead with those outdoor commencement ceremonies.
