PUEBLO — The Salvation Army in Pueblo is hiring for the holiday season.

The organization is hosting a job fair Thursday at its location on Thatcher and Prairie from 10 a.m. to noon and is hoping to hire 15 to 20 paid bell ringers.

Bell ringers for red kettle are needed more than ever because of the number of people asking for the Salvation Army's help during the pandemic.

"People are losing their jobs because of COVID-19, they're laid off, most of them are getting unemployment. Sometimes the unemployment takes a while. We are here to help with that cushion to help them get through this." Capt. Mark Cyr said.

The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteer bell ringers as well.
