Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs will host the Royal Air Force's Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows on Monday, September 16 as part of their North American tour.

We're expecting the team to arrive this morning with a fly-in to Peterson Air Force Base before noon, followed by a drive to visit the cadets at the US Air Force Academy. Then its a drive back to Peterson AFB where they'll takeoff a little after 4 p.m. for a flyover and short performance over the US Air Force Academy. Immediately afterwards, the team will depart for a visit in Denver.

This is the team's largest visit to the continent in more than a decade. The team is comprised of 12 Red Arrows Hawk aircraft and 1 huge Atlas A400M RAF transport aircraft.

The team is coming in from Dallas-Fort Worth where they visited for a 5-day engagement, including a visit to aeronautics corporations in the metroplex.

From Colorado Springs they'll move on to visits in Denver, Oregon, Seattle, Vancouver, and California.

A visit from our overseas allies is intended to show "the UK's continuing commitment to enduring relationships, mutual prosperity and extensive security cooperation."
