LAKE GEORGE — A 21-year old man from Atascadero, California is dead after an accident on Highway 24 just east of Lake George. According to the State Patrol, the accident happened at about 6:10 a.m. Friday morning after the man lost control of his Toyota while he was driving in the westbound lanes.
His car drifted off the right side of the highway, hit a culvert and then went airborne. The car rolled twice before coming to a rest. The man was wearing his seatbelt, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating and they don't believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
