PUEBLO — In lieu of its annual Brew at the Zoo, the Pueblo Zoo is hosting a virtual concert on Facebook Saturday with local artists.

The live Facebook event will begin at 5 p.m. with a lineup including: Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show, Wayne Faust, The Family Juls, and Sunshine and the Segway Band. These bands will set up at the zoo and practice social distancing, according to the zoo.

The Pueblo Zoo also said viewers will experience "animal cameos, video messages from local brewers, growler giveaways, and live commentary from zoo staff and special guests."

“While we’re planning on Brew at the Zoo going forward as an in-person event in October, we still wanted to bring a bit of the Brew experience to our supporters who had planned to be with us on April 25,” Pueblo Zoo Executive Director Abigail Krause said in a release. “The virtual concert gives us an opportunity to support local artists and local breweries, both of which are hurting because of current circumstances.”

Saturday would have marked the fifth annual Brew at the Zoo, which helps raise funds for the zoo for the month of May. It typically brings in about 20 local breweries and about 1,500 visitors. The event has been postponed to October 10. If you'd like to purchase tickets for the event, click here.

For this Saturday's virtual concert, it will be live on their Facebook page linked here.
