PUEBLO — The Pueblo Police Department announced Monday evening an arrest has been made in a double homicide investigation.

According to a release from the department, a juvenile male has been arrested on the charge of first-degree murder. As he is a juvenile, his identity has not been released. The department said additional arrests are anticipated in this case.

The department said police were called to conduct a welfare check Sunday night when they discovered the bodies in the 1400 block of East 18th St. Police said the man and woman have been dead for an "unknown amount of time" before they found them.

The Pueblo County Coroner identified the two victims Monday afternoon as 38-year-old Andonia Marie Bouzos and 36-year-old Jesus Antonio Gutierrez. Both families have been notified.

Their deaths are being investigated as a double homicide due to the "circumstances encountered at the scene." The exact cause of death has yet to be determined, but the corner's office does say they will conduct an autopsy on Tuesday.

This is the sixth and seventh homicide in Pueblo this year.
