Pueblo Police arrest woman in carjacking, shooting that killed a man

PUEBLO — The Pueblo Police Department located and arrested a suspect in a homicide case early Monday morning.

According to Pueblo Police, the department received a report of an in-progress car theft on East "B" Street just after 10 a.m. Sunday morning. One minute later, a shooting was reported at the same location.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Pueblo Police said the investigation revealed the man was shot by 32-year-old Gina Vinson, aka Gina Deherrera.

Vinson left the area before officers arrived. She was in a blue, 2008 Ford Mustang convertible. Pueblo Police said that vehicle was later recovered at another location.

The department said Vinson was taken into custody without incident early Monday morning.

The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
